Brian Scott Buckman

1958-2017

Lower Loudoun Boys Football League is sad to announce that we have lost a very dear member of our football family.  (Brian) Scott Buckman passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.   Scott was a part of LLBFL as a Head Coach, Assistant Coach and Board Member for many years.   Scott was extremely dedicated to the players and cheerleaders is our program.   He had a heart of gold and it showed.

Scott and Lora Buckman’s daughter Katie grew up in our program first as a mini mascot when she was just 4 or 5 years old then as a mascot and then as a cheerleader all the way through her 8th grade school year.  If Katie was cheering, her Dad was there watching her.  He continued his dedication to his family as Katie played sports in high school and college.  He was an awesome husband and father.

He had a way of teaching kids to play football and making them feel like they could accomplish anything.  His past players loved and respected him for not only being their coach, but also someone they could talk to.   If Scott knew of a player or cheerleader in need of some assistance, he was always more than willing to help.   He contributed countless hours to our league and the community.

Scott Buckman was 100% for the kids all the time.  To say he will be missed by many would be an understatement.  There will never be another coach, board member or friend like Scott.  He was definitely one if a kind.

We will miss you Scott, our coach, mentor and friend.
